Portfolio Presentation & Site Analysis
First, we meet with the client and review our portfolio as well as the wishes and ideas the client may have for the project. We will ask questions about the property (e.g. sun exposure, wind, drainage) and gain an understanding of the client’s needs (e.g. privacy, screening) and desired uses for different areas of the property(e.g. pool or water feature, herb or vegetable garden). We will also review any pictures or magazine ideas the client may have. We then take measurements and photographs and develop a Site Analysis which takes into consideration the orientation of the land, the type of soil, the exposure and drainage, as well as the existing plants on the property.

Master Plan and Agreement
The Master Plan is a conceptual drawing produced using our landscape graphic computer program, showing the purpose of the project, the physical conditions, individual features to create, as well as existing features to keep or change, according to the parameters specified. Based on the scope of the project, a Master Plan may not be required; in this case, we can also provide consultation for an hourly fee.

We draw up a Design Agreement to help determine the parameterw of the project in terms of design requirements, timing, and budget. The design fee is determined, and a deposit is made. There may be one or two meetings before completion of the design. When the finished design is presented, the rest of the design fee is due.

Detailed Planting Plan
The next step is to draw the Detailed Planting Plan which defines the type and quantities of plants, and structural features to be included in each area of the property, as well as the costs associated with that detailed plan.

Installation
Lastly, the Installation of The Design can be done all at one time, or it can be accomplished in stages over a period of months or even years. We cover all aspects of the installation of a garden from grading and soil preparation to the implementation of the whole design.
